It is ironic that Henrietta Hughes is a victim of the policies that Barack Obama voted for in his congressional record.
Mrs. Hughes said on an interview that she had a $1000 mortgage. She was a victim of the Fannie Mae Freddie Mac policy that requires banks to issue loans to people who cannot afford them.
Every economist points to the sub prime mortgages as the reason behind our economic collapse. Now we have Mrs. Hughes who is the person of that collapse. Welcome to Obama policy.
Obama also voted against correcting this. Mrs. Hughes is in her situation because of her president’s policies as a congressman.
Now he says he is her savior. Mrs. Hughes has been had by her president.
Really stretching! Totally stretching. Ms. Hughes is a Victim of Republican nonsense that has been going
since Nixon. Every economist points to Nixon and capitalism has what started this. Not the subprime lending that BUSH made possible.
That’s right! Goes all the way back to Nixon and if you did some reading
you’d find out that Reagen and his deregulating help push this even further. But then Nixon and Reagen got theirs didn’t they?
No need for them to worry about the Ms. Hughes of the world. And Barack Obama has been in office less than a month and your
blaming him for what the Republicans did. Really pitiful!
No stretch…FACT. Bill Clinton administration policies had Fannie Mae Freddie Mac issue sub prime mortgages. His great idea was for banks to make home loans to people who could not afford them.
Every economist points to sub prime mortgages for this economic collaps.
Barack Obama had opportunity to vote for more oversight of FM and FM.
Mrs. Hughes stated her mortgage was $1000. Her income could not support a $1000 mortgage and the upkeep on that kind of home…it was a New home. The sub prime lending drove up the housing market so that homes are artificially higher priced.
So now Obama is the savior?
He is also the one pushing a stimulus package that includes a Medicare policy that alters the payment of medical care based on “effective treatment” to “cost effective” analysis. From a Bloomberg.com article, it gives the example that osteoporosis in the elderly might not be a cost effective treatment when you look at the number of years they have to live. That is your president. You are nothing more than a “cost effectiveness” formula.
I understand your loyalty to your vision. But really, you should read the facts rather than blindly gobbling rhetoric.
Come back when you do some reading. This economic crisis can not be blamed on one person simply because you didn’t want him to become president. Or on Fanny and Freddie Mac
Your Limbaugh talking points are not holding up to history.
As far as a Savior? I don’t think of Barack Obama in terms of a savior. I think he is a man in an impossible position and he will not be able to dig us out of this very deep, very dark hole the Republicans have worked so hard to put us in.
At least he addressed the women questions instead of having questions vetted ahead of time.
He will not be able to help everybody and that alone will make the republicans very happy… Because republicans don’t believe in helping their fellow man/woman they only know how to Lie, cheat and steal as the last eight years has proven over and over again. You’ve latch on to fanny and freddie and can’t think past it. Try reading some history. Or even better … Turn off Rush Limbaugh and think for yourself.
I identify with Republican policies and I don’t lie, cheat steal. That is a blanket assumption that does not speak to any policy argument. It’s like saying Democrats have no fiscal sensibilities. It is a blanket statement that doesn’t fit every person.
This economic crisis is directly linked to sub prime linding which was a result of Clinton’s Community Reinvestment act. In order to lend, banks were forced to lend to a specified percentage of people from specified income strata if they wanted to offer other government backed loans to qualified buyers. Thus, they loaned to those who could not afford the mortgage and the government securitized those loans.
Henrietta’s crisis was a direct result of those imposed lending practices. Banks do not choose to make mortgage loans to people who cannot repay them. If they did, there would no reason to fill out an application. Just ask for the money. I am sympathetic to Henrietta’s situation because she was issued a loan she never should have had. There was probably a home she could have owned within her income level but now that she will default, her credit is ruined. It stinks and the policy that allowed it stinks.
Sylvia, If you Republican policies then you do lie, cheat and steal, because that is
what the Republicans are all about. They have been stealing from America sense
Nixon. Ronald Regan delivered the killing punch to our nation. If your a smart women
you will stop identifying with liars, cheats and thieves.
You are not reading enough. and I assume you are rich because you don’t seem to
understand what is going on in this country. If you vote republican you are voting against
your best interest.

You might want to check that black heart at the door.
